# The same data the app shows, as JSON or CSV

One base path, bearer-token authentication, a fixed response envelope with provenance in every data response. The request below runs as written with a key.

One request

```
curl "https://api.datatactical.group/v2/industry/series?areas=22&naics=621&from=2024&to=2025" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $DTG_API_KEY"
```

Walked field by field on the [quickstart](/docs/api/quickstart).

## What the API returns

Industry and occupation employment series for any county, state, the nation, a metropolitan area or a saved cluster, at any classification level, annual or quarterly, from 2004 through the projection horizon; choropleth-shaped maps; location quotients; the taxonomies; the list of vintages; and the organization’s own account surface. Every data endpoint answers in JSON, CSV or a spreadsheet workbook. Every industry value carries its disclosure code and reliability score, on every endpoint and in every export, and series values also carry the restatement flags; every data response carries the vintage and the provenance boundaries in its metadata.

## What it costs

The API is an add-on, sold only with an annual plan, on every paid tier including Local. The free account and the trial do not include live API keys. A member mints their own keys in the app, two per person, once the organization holds the add-on and an admin has allowed it. Requests are limited to 120 a minute per key and 300 a minute per organization, and the data returned is metered in points against a monthly allowance. A developer who reads that now and continues is in the right place.

## Where to go next

The [quickstart](/docs/api/quickstart) walks one real request and its response. [Authentication](/docs/api/authentication) covers keys. The [reference](/docs/api/reference) documents every endpoint and field. [Paging](/docs/api/paging), [errors](/docs/api/errors), [rate limits](/docs/api/rate-limits) and [CSV](/docs/api/csv) cover operating it. The reference is generated from the API’s own OpenAPI document, which the API also serves at `/v2/openapi.json`.
